The Africa Network for Environment and Economic Justice (ANEEJ) has paid a courtesy visit to the Edo State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation at its newly commissioned secretariat, marking the beginning of a strategic partnership to improve the welfare of vulnerable populations in the state.
This was contained in a statement made available to the media in Kaduna yesterday.
The statement stated that the ANEEJ delegation, led by its Executive Director, Rev. David Ugolor, which included Programmes Manager Innocent Edemhanria, Monitoring and Evaluation Manager Sandra Eguagie, and Communications Officer Jeremiah Amaize, held talks with Honourable Commissioner Chief Barrister Olabisi Marie Idaomi, to explore areas of collaboration and synergy.
Rev. Ugolor highlighted ANEEJ’s three decades of work in governance reform, anti-corruption advocacy, asset recovery and management, and public finance transparency, and introduced the Act Naija project, a social protection initiative aimed at strengthening social accountability and citizen engagement.
The Commissioner, who was warmly received by the ANEEJ delegation, acknowledged the organization’s longstanding contributions to Edo State and the nation, and reiterated the Edo State Government’s commitment to lifting 1 million households out of poverty by the end of its tenure.
