No fewer than 25 persons have been abducted by gunmen suspected to be armed bandits in both Wushshi and Rafi local government areas of Niger State.
The incident occurred on Monday morning between nine to ten o’clock, when the armed men invaded Kutuku Community in Wushshi local government area.
According to reports, the gunmen shot sporadically in the air to scare away residents’ after which about twenty persons including women and under aged children were abducted and taken to an unidentified destination.
Consequently, an eye witness, Malam Mubarak Tegina said in a telephone interview that the bandits, armed with dangerous weapons carried out their operation in broad daylight without fear or favor.
In the same vein, another five persons was abducted while several others were injured at Panku gari in Rafi local government council of the state.
However, efforts to contact the police public relations officer PPRO, ASP Abiodun Wasiu for comment proved abortive.
