Ambassador Fubara Dagogo on Wednesday alleged that the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied him nomination form to contest for the position of the Zonal Vice Chairman (South South) in the forthcoming National Convention of the party.
Dagogo who is also the chieftain of the Director General of the All Progressives Congress States Assembly Forum (ASAF), said it’s curious that the party would resort to hording the forms from other party chieftains who were also interested in contesting for the positions.
Addressing newsmen at the National Secretariat of the APC in Abuja, Dagogo accused the party of deliberately reserving the forms only to the incumbent members of the National Working Committee (NWC), with the convention scheduled for March 27 and 28 almost at hand.
The aspirant who displayed the copy of the receipt he was issued after confirming his payment wondered why the party refused to issue him the form he paid for.
“I paid N5.1 million as stipulated and was issued receipts accordingly. I followed due process, but I have not been given the form.
“When I got to the organising office, they told me there was no form, yet I could see forms being moved around. That raises serious questions,” he added.
According to the APC chieftain, there may be deliberate attempts by some individuals to frustrate his ambition, warning that such actions could create bad blood among party loyalists.
“I have served this party at different levels and contributed to its development. I believe I have earned the right to participate in this process,” he said.
Dagogo who declined revealing his next line of action should he not get the form called on President Bola Tinubu to intervene, expressing confidence that the President would ensure a level playing field for all aspirants.
