The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) rose from its meeting on Monday with a resolution to hold its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on July 24.
Addressing newsmen after the NWC meeting, Deputy National Secretary Festus Faunter, said the NEC meeting which is the highest organ of the party will determine the way forward for the party, following the surprise resignation of Dr. Abdulahi Ganduje.
Faunter said the meeting was a direct fallout to the resignation of the party’s National Chairman, Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje last week Friday.
However, his deputy from the North, Hon Bukar Dalori had earlier on Monday took over.
The Deputy National Secretary added that a notice for the NEC meeting has already been forwarded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Reacting to several protests and calls by some party stakeholders from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for a cancellation of the recently conducted primary elections, Faunter said such decision can only be reached after a wide consultation or all the party hierarchy.
