APC guber primary: Deputy gov, NJC scribe demand fair play in Nasarawa

Date:

From Gambo Ahmed, Lafia

The Nasarawa State Deputy Governor Mr. Silas Ali Agara and the former National Judicial Council Secretary Alhaji Danladi Halilu Envulanza who are both governorship aspirants under the platform the All Progressives Congress, APC, have called on the All Progressive Congress stakeholders in the state to provide a level field atmosphere by imbibing the spirit of fairness, equity and justice as enshrined in the APC Constitution in the forth coming governorship primary election.
Mr. Agara and Envulanza who stated this in an interview with newsmen in Akwanga LGC of the state shortly after a meeting with stakeholders and delegates from the Northern Senatorial Zone of the state yesterday in preparatory to Saturday APC Primaries.
Speaking separately, the former NJC scribe Envulanza admonished the leadership of APC in the state to exhibit high sense of fairness, equity, fear of God and justice during the exercise.
According to him “we brought ourselves together Aspirants from the zone because we want to share with the vision his Excellency Governor Almakura in bringing together the entire Nasarawa State to respect each other as one entity and one family. If I say one entity and one family, that is to say we have three Senatorial Zones in Nasarawa State. Nasarawa State will be incomplete without the other zone”.
He continued “That is why we the Aspirants are here to further reassure our people that the vision of Governor Almakura has not changed as speculated.
We share with him and believe in his principles. The principles of fairness, equity and justice. He has told the world that come 2019 under APC that the next governor will emerge from Akwanga zone”.
The NJC scribe who observed that it will be unfair if Akwanga zone will not be given the governorship seat in 2019, Just as according to him “Our brothers in the southern Zone and western Zone have ruled the State. The western Zone ruled for 8years and the southern Zone 12 years. It will be injustice if Akwanga Zone will not be given the seat. I call on other Zone to join hands and support Akwanga Zone. There is not point saying that a man from Keffi and Lafia Zone contesting. Because they have ruled Also in his address to the Delegates, Mr. Silas implored them to vote wisely during the Primary in order to bring leaders that will salvage them.
“I commend Governor Almakura for his leadership quality. Kudos to our traditional rulers in the zone for their giant role played. I urged you delegates to have the fear of God. Vote credible candidates. I am not in line with the insinuation that Governor Almakura has an anointed Aspirant from Akwanga zone. You as delegates should not submit yourselves to any kind of intimidation. Be firm and mature in voting credible persons to lead you” Silas added.
