APC loses Senatorial seat to PDP, 3 Reps members in Jigawa

The ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), has lost the Senatorial seat of Jigawa Central to People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
However, APC also lost two members of federal house of representatives to PDP and one other reps seat to NNPP.
Declaring the results in Dutse, the returning officer professor Usman Haruna said, Mustafa Habeeb of People’s Democratic Party pulled 153,731 votes to defeat his closest rival, Mr Sabo Nakudu of the All Progressive Congress (APC), who pulled 134,802 votes.
Alhaji Mustapha Khabib also defeated Mr Musa Bako of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), who secured 18,662 votes.
While the the ruling APC retained the remaining two Senatorial seats of Jigawa North-West and Jigawa North-east zones.
The electoral body announced
Alhaji Babangida Husaini Uba of the All Progressive Congress (APC) as the winner of the JIgawa northwest senatorial district.
He scored 187,049 votes.
Declaring the election result, the returning officer, Professor Ahmed Baita Garba said Alhaji Babangida Husaini defeated senator Ibrahim Saminu Turaki of PDP who scored 134,199 votes and Nasuru Bala of ADC who scored 2,644 votes.
Also the INEC returning officer of Jigawa North-east professor Adamu Usman Isge declared Ahmed Abdulhamid Malam-Madori as newly elected Senator to represent Jigawa North-east at upper chamber.
He said, Ahmed Abdul Hamid Mallam Madori of APC scored 136,977 votes, while Muhd Garba of NNPP scored 29,485, Dr Nuradden Muhd of PDP scored 107,457 votes.
