The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, has marked his 58th birthday with healthcare interventions and the commissioning of projects at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Jalingo, Taraba State.
The celebration, held at the weekend, focused on supporting healthcare delivery and improving services at the medical facility.
Speaking at the event, the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, commended Yilwatda for choosing to celebrate his birthday in the North-East, particularly in Taraba State.
Pate described the decision to make healthcare the centrepiece of the celebration as significant, noting that the sector could serve as an important platform for promoting unity among Nigerians.
He said a strong healthcare system remained fundamental to national development, stressing that healthy citizens were essential to the progress and prosperity of any society.
The minister also appreciated the Taraba State Government, members of the National Assembly and the people of the state for their support for the intervention.
The Chief Medical Director of FMC Jalingo, Dr. Aisha Adamu Mohammed, who hosted the event, said the choice of the medical centre demonstrated a growing commitment to medical excellence and service to humanity.
According to her, the interventions and commissioned projects would contribute significantly to strengthening healthcare delivery in Taraba State.
The highlight of the celebration was the cutting of Yilwatda’s 58th birthday cake, alongside the commissioning of projects at the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo.
The organisers said the activities were intended to reinforce the message that leadership should extend beyond positions and titles to delivering tangible benefits to the people.
For Yilwatda, the 58th birthday celebration was therefore presented as an opportunity to promote service, generosity and positive impact on humanity, rather than a mere social gathering.
