APC sweeps 25 Local Councils Chairmanship seats in Niger

The Niger State Independent Electoral Commission (NSIEC) has announced the results of the 2025 Local Government Areas Chairmanship and Councillorship elections, with the ruling APC declared the winners of the 25 Chairmanship seats.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the NSIEC Commissioner 1 in charge of Operations, Barr. Mohammed A. Liman in Minna.
He confirmed that the elections were successfully conducted across 25 local councils of the state.
NSIEC further declared that the APC in the Councillorship elections won 271 out of 274 wards while the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) won two seats in Tafa and one seat in Rafi Local Governments of the state.
Barr. Mohammed Liman stated that all the Councils and Wards Returning Officers (ROs) have completed the collation and declaration of results in accordance with electoral laws.
