The All Progressives Congress (APC), has petitioned the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Sulaiman Abba, over the threat of violence by Mujahid Asari Dokubo against the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Alh. Lai Mohammed.

In a statement issued yesterday and signed by the National Secretary, Hon Mai Mala Buni, the party said it has find the threat totally abhorring, dangerous and unacceptable and uncivilized therefore wished the inspector General of Police to call Dokubo to order and invite him to explain what he meanth by his threat to resort to self-help.

“Our attention has been drawn to comment made by Mr. Mujahid Asari Dokubo that include threat of violence to our National Publicity Secretary, Alh. Lai Mohammed. We take this unwarranted threat very seriously in view of his antecedence and his propensity to violence and will definitely hold him personally responsible if anything untoward happens to Lai Mohammed.

“Since ours is a country that operates under the rule of law rather than the law of the jungle, we belief anybody who is aggrieved over any issue should resort to the court to seek redress. Where such aggrieved persons decided to take laws into their own hands as Asari Dokubo threatened. It is an invitation to anarchy.

Recall Asari Dokubo in an interview granted to an online newspaper, Premium Times on Friday 17th October 2014, following a press statement which was issued by Lai Mohammed on behalf of the party on October 8, 2014, asking the federal government to explain the reported presence of Asari Dokubo on the plane that transported US$9.3 to South Africa.
