APP celebrates Court of Appeal ruling setting aside political parties delisting order

The Action Peoples Party (APP) in Imo State has described the Court of Appeal decision reversing the deregistration of the party and four other political parties as a significant boost for Nigeria’s democracy ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued in Owerri on Tuesday, the party’s State Publicity Secretary, Steve Nnadi, said the appellate court’s unanimous judgment represented a victory for constitutional order, the rule of law and the country’s multi-party democratic system.
The Court of Appeal had overturned an earlier Federal High Court decision that ordered the deregistration of the APP and other affected parties, a development the party said reaffirmed the independence of the judiciary and strengthened confidence in democratic institutions.
APP commended the appellate court judges for what it described as courage and commitment to justice, saying the judgment had restored the legal standing of the affected political parties.
The party urged its members across Imo State’s 27 local government areas to remain united and focused as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
It called on party supporters to intensify grassroots mobilization, expand membership and strengthen party structures, while also promoting voter awareness ahead of the polls.
The APP leadership assured residents of Imo State that the party remains committed to good governance, accountability and policies aimed at improving the welfare of citizens.
