The National Coordinating Office (NCO) of Agro-Processing, Productivity Enhancement, And Livelihood Improvement Support Project (APPEALS) Abuja has embarked on a Pre-Implementation support mission to six participating states of the project this week.
The National Project Coordinator, Mohammed Sani Jobdi disclosed this in kaduna yesterday.
He said the objective of the mission is to review the implementation progress across all project components
In her welcome address, the Kaduna State Commissioner of Agriculture, Hajiya Halima said the State will continue to give APPEALS project all the support and policy guidance necessary to succeed.
She urged for the speedy implementation of Women and Youth Empowerment Progamme (WYEB) already screened and train to cushion the effect of the COVID 19 pandemic which impacted the economy, agriculture, and project implementation last year.
In his remarks, Kaduna State Project Coordinator, Dr. Yahaya Aminu appreciate the support of the state government and the National Coordination Office Abuja in the implementation of the project.
Two teams are drawn from National Coordinating Office Abuja, representatives from the Federal Ministries of Agriculture, Finance, and Project Coordinating Unit (PCU), and State representatives from Lagos and Enugu are in the mission in Kaduna.
The mission is in preparation for the forthcoming Mid-Term Review of the APPEALS Project declared disbursement effective in May 2018.
