An apprentice with a popular aluminum construction company in Edo state, Braimah Peter has nabbed by police for allegedly robbing and raping a nursing mother identified as “Mary”.
The incidence occurred at about Agenobode, the administrative headquarters of Etsako-East local government area of the state last week Thursday.
Mother of the victim was away for a vigil during the attack around 4 a.m. when the 19-year-old Braimah pounced on Mary.
The 17 year-old victim, who delivered via Cesarean operation, was at her mother’s house for weaning during the attack.
The suspect was alleged to have threatened to stab her three month-old baby to death if she refused to fulfill his sexual desire, according to Police source.
The source said, after the suspect took to flight after the amorous act. The nursing mother raised alarm, which attracted the attention of the bewildered neighbours, while her husband engaged some youths to launch a manhunt for the suspect.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP, Noble Uwoh, confirmed the report.
“The woman had operation about three months ago and it has been confirmed that the woman is a nursing mother. In fact, your story is true’’, he said.
