Archbishop Idahosa petitions Buhari over killer herdsmen

The Archbishop, Church of God Mission International, Most Reverend (Mrs) Margaret Benson Idahosa has petitioned President Muhammadu Buhari in connection with the recent killings by suspected herdsmen in some parts of Edo state.
The Archbishop tasked the President as the custodian of the Peoples’ mandate” to address security concerns and pursue cases of criminality including those involving armed bandits in the Country, “to a logical conclusion.
In the petition which was made available to newsmen in Benin City, specifically described the recent abduction and murder of some Clergymen including Reverend Pius Eromosele as “one too many”.
It condemned the atrocious killings and other violent crimes such as rape, arson, kidnappings and sympathized with the bereaved families of those murdered in cold blood by hoodlums.
“As you are aware, our nation is going through a lot of security challenges and the have being different hues and cries about the menace of the rampaging criminals throughout our Communities, villages, riverine areas and all over the nation.
“These enemies of our collective destiny as a nation must be pulled down…This killings of our pastor is one too many and God in heaven has promised us device intervention speedily”, Archbishop Idahosa said.
Peoples Daily recalls that the state government had last Sunday ban night grazing at Odighi, Odiguetue communities and its environs for a period of 90 days in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo state.
The state governor, Godwin Obaseki said this during his condole visit to the family at Odighi Community – one week after the state Police Command paraded some suspected armed bandits responsible for the abduction and murder of late Reverend Pius Eromosele.
