Armed Forces Day: Almakura urges unity among Nigerians

Governor Tanko Almakura of Nasarawa state has appealed to Nigerians and Nasarawa people to live humorously with one another irrespective of tribe and religion in the interest of this country.

Almakura stated this yesterday during the Armed forces remembrance celebration at the government House Shedam road Lafia the state Capital.

” I appreciate the members of the region and Armed forces in the manner they show love and sympathy to the fallen heroes. They are people who have sacrificed their lives and blood to ensure that the country remain in unity and indivisible entity.”

He added that, their sweat and efforts towards the unity and peaceful co-existence of this country cannot be quantify, stressing that oneness, love and harmonious co-existence amongst the ethnic nationality of this country is very paramount.

The governor prayed for the families of the fallen heroes for God’s blessings as well as gives them the guiding spirit in their endeavors.

He further admonished the people of the state to live in peace and harmony with one another irrespective of tribe or religious background, despite the recent skirmishes that bedeviled some parts of the state.

His words “I call on all of us to embrace the virtue of oneness and to be our brothers’ keeper for the rapid development of the state. I am delighted for the peaceful co-operation being enjoyed now for the past few weeks in the troubled areas. Be you Mada, Eggon, Alago,Ekye, Afo, Hausa Fulani, Fulani, Gwandara, Migili. Etc. I urged you to always maintain peace in order to benefit from the present administration whose philosophy is aimed at delivering the dividends of democracy to the common man.

Almakura who also assured communities ravaged by crisis in the recent times his readiness to distribute relief materials in not distance time to them so as to enable the affected persons go back to their ancestral homes, as well as enjoined them to cultivate the spirit of forgiveness.
