Army Recruitment Scam: Police arrest fake Army officer

The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested one suspect who impersonate as Army officer for engaging in army recruitment scam, in Kafin Madaki ward of Bauchi metropolise Bauchi state. The suspect. identified as Faisal Ibrahim was arrested for allegedly claiming to be Army officer and obtaining under false pretense,the sum of N140 Thousand Naira to offer employment in to Nigerian Army.

A statement issue and signed by the Command Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), DSP Haruna Mohammed made available at the weekend, said the suspect was arrested Saturday, in Bauchi. According to him, one Faisal Ibrahim, male, of Kafin Madaki Ward, Bauchi, who impersonated as Army officer was arrested for obtaining under false pretense, sum of N140 from one Ibrahim Muhammad, male and 20 years of Gombe State to enlist him into the Nigerian Army.

The PPRO explained that the suspect was arrested in the process of collecting more money from complainant and is assisting the police with useful information that could lead to the arrest of his accomplice. The DSP then urged members of the public to be vigilant and not to fall victims of such avoidable blackmail and also, should follow the statutory procedure in seeking for recruitment of their children.

He said, the Police are doing everything possible to see that such bad eggs in the society are brought to face the wrath of the law.
