As CISLAC/ISMPH visits Jigawa CMAM, ‎urges lawmakers to intervene

The group non governmental organisations knowns as Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Centre (CISLAC), ISMPH and NHED, called on Jigawa stakeholders particularly the executive and lawmakers to add more effort on how to save the lives of thousands malnurished children in the state.
The called was made by the CISLAC senior programme officer comrade Murtala Muhammad, when the group paid a visit to CMAM centre in Sankara town as part of the one day interface session on prevention and treatment of severe acute malnutrition in Jigawa state.
Comrade Murtala who related a better and beautiful future of any community to producing the nutritious children, said it is right time that government at every level need to give more priorities on nutrition issues.
According to him, CISLAC organised this interface with aims to encourage executive, legislators and other stakeholders on faster implementation of released fund allocated for nutrition in the state.
“We invited both speaker of the house and his members, commissioners, MDA’s representatives, media and other stakeholders to the CMAM centres and see the situations for an urgent action to save our children” he said.
He then commended the state commissioner for women affairs for her commitments and urged other commissioners and lawmakers in the state to emulate from her.
While making his remarks on behave of state ministry of health, the deputy director on nutrition, Alhaji Musa Mohd said state government is doing all it best to reduce malnutrition through various programmes.
He then commended CISLAC, ISMPH and ABF for their concern and contribution towards reducing malnutrition level in Jigawa.
