The Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, Kwara State Traditional Council,
Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari has assured President Goodl uck Jonathan of his assistance and support in implementing government’s programmers in Kwara state.
The monarch stated this yesterday in Ilorin while receiving President Jonathan and members of his cabinet and national working committees of the Peoples’ Democratic Party, (PDP) at his Palace.
The monarch who described the President as a leader with clear vision noted that Ilorin is peaceful and strategic to peaceful co-existence of the nation serving as a gateway to the northern and southern parts.
He said, “You finally became the President of the great nation in substantive capacity peacefully. All these are God’s work.
“It is the same God that we besiege to grant you what you are looking for peacefully.”
The royal father presented a horse to the President as a mark of honour.
In his response, President Jonathan informed the Emir that , all his missions tothe state have always been positive.
President Jonathan said despite the ugly experiences of the Boko Haram insurgence in some states, the Emir have been doing a wonderful work stressing that he has played his fatherly roles well.
He said, “We are not here to campaign, when the time comes in about six to seven months time, we shall visit you again. At this time, we are here to formally receive decampees into our party and also give them the sense of brotherhood and belonging”.
