From Femi Oyelola, Kaduna
The National Body of the Kaduna Government College Old Boys Association (KADOBA), has appealed to the State Government to relocate the NYSC and Civil Defence Corps from the college premises, and return the school fully to its students.
National President of the Association, Alhaji Muhammad Yusuf Sa’in Lere, made the appealed while receiving the report of a committee set up to review pressing issues affecting the school in Kaduna yesterday
He noted that since the two organizations occupied the college due to earlier security concerns at their permanent sites, teaching and learning have continued to suffer.
He explained that a lot of efforts have been made by the present administration to address the security issues in the state, and the situation has significantly improved.
According to him, the college is facing encroachment, and it is high time the institutions occupying the school returned to their permanent sites at Sabon Gayan.
He particularly appealed to the state government to intervene and direct the two organizations to vacate the premises and hand them back to the students.
Also, the Secretary-General of the Association, Alhaji Tijjani Ahmed Musa, commended the Committee for a job well done and promised that the report would be properly analyzed and implemented to the letter.
On his part, the Chairman of the Committee, Alhaji Hassan Umar, said the committee was set up to discuss modalities for the forthcoming National Convention of the College, as well as other silent but important issues.
He noted that the alleged encroachment on the college by some institutions in the country, due to insecurity, is worrisome and appealed to the government to intervene.
