ASUU debunks existence of splinter group in AAU

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma Chapter, on Tuesday debunked the existence of a splinter group, Congress of University Academic (CONUA) in the University.
Arising from a special Congress meeting held weekend at the institution where it reviewed the report in a sections of the Media suggesting that the institution was listed as a member of CONUA).
The Chairman, ASUU, AAU, Ekpoma, Monday Lewis Igbafen and Secretary,ASUU AAU, Ekpoma, Anthony Aigogun Aizebioje Coker, described the reports as misleading and does not reflect the position on ground at AAU.
According to Igbafen, “After an exhaustive discussion of the report, the Congress of ASUU AAU, Ekpoma, observed that the said press reports are misleading and do not reflect the position on ground at AAU.
He added that the two persons who are lecturers in AAU Ekpoma identified as promoters of the so-called CONUA, namely Dr. H.O.T Iyawe and Dr. Ernest Nwoke are members of ASUU, AAU Ekpoma are on suspension from the union for transgressions against the union’s rules and ethics.”
