The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar has accused the State Governors of diverting the local governments council monies, promising to abolished the local government joint account if elected as President of Nigeria in February 16 polls.
He made this statement on Sunday when he took the campaign train to Birnin Kebbi, the State capital of Kebbi State, accusing the governors for diverting the local governments joint account money.
He added that if elected as the President of Nigeria, he will fight for the cancellation. “The operation of joint account is illegal, I promise to abolish it because the Governors hid under the umbrella of it and siphon the money”, he added.
He therefore urged the people of Kebbi State not to vote for APC as the party is a poverty one, promising to empower youths and women.
In his remarks, the Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwa, appealed to the people of Kebbi State to vote for PDP, saying it is the only party that can eradicate poverty in the country.
Tambuwa, who said further that APC has failed Nigerians by instituting hunger and poverty, promising that the current PDP will make Nigeria work again if Abubakar becomes Nigeria President.
