Atiku pledges to revive Bakolori Dam

A Presidential candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has promised to revive the crawling Bakolori dam with a view to restore farming activities.
Atiku, who stated this yesterday during his Presidential campaign visit to Gusau, the Zamfara state capital said, he will pay needed attention to two important issues in the state comprised of total revival of Bakolori dam and the security.
“No farming activities could be observed without conquering security challenges bedeviling Zamfara and other parts of the country, for this, my administration will embark on empowering security agencies to the extent that criminal activities are defeated.
“Unless we have adequate number of security operatives and sophisticated weapons capable of smoking out criminals, destruction of their camps, arrest for prosecution as well, so that, our farm lands could be used in achieving food security”, Atiku has challenged.
He symphathised with the people in the state especially major farmers who found it necessary to abandoned unharvested crops even in commercial quantity fear for merciless attacks launched by dreaded groups of armed bandits.
The candidate further promised construction of standard Airport in Gusau the capital of Zamfara state, as that will facilitate rapid growth of the state economy as it would establish a formidable link with the other commercial enterprising part of the nation and the world at large.
