President Bola Tinubu has described the attack on former American President, Donald Trump, as distasteful, saying violence has no place in democracy.
The former American President who is currently running for a second tenure of office on the platform of the Republican Party was shot at in a campaign rally on Saturday by a 20 year old boy.
Prominent world leaders including, America’s Joe Biden have condemned the attack, describing it as anti democratic.
Joining other world leaders, President Tinubu extended his sympatheties to Trump, wishing him well.
“The attack on former President Donald Trump is distasteful and goes beyond the pale of democratic norms. Violence has no place in democracy.
“I extend my sympathies to the former President and wish him relief. I also condole with the family of the deceased and those wounded and wish them a quick recovery.
“Nigeria stands in solidarity with the United States of America at this time,” the Nigerian President said via his officail twitter handle on Sunday.
