AVM Shogbanmu is new Commandant of AFCSC

Air Vice Marshal Alfred Olugbenga Shogbanmu has officially taken command as the 28th Commandant of the esteemed Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC) in Nigeria.
This transition occurred during a historic Handing and Taking Over Ceremony held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at the College headquarters.
The ceremony marked the passing of leadership from the outgoing Commandant, Air Vice Marshal Hassan Idris Alhaji.
After assuming command, Air Vice Marshal Shogbanmu expressed his gratitude to the Chief of Defence Staff and Service Chiefs for their confidence in him. He acknowledged the significant contributions of his predecessor in establishing a solid foundation for the college. He assured the Defence Headquarters, Service Headquarters, and all stakeholders of his commitment to uphold existing legacies while introducing necessary innovations to meet the evolving operational and training needs.
