Bago of APC in early lead of Niger gubernatorial election

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC in Niger state is in early lead following the collation center results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Returning Officer, Professor Clement Alawa, Deputy Vice Chancellor University of Abuja while given up date of results as they comes in from various local government areas of the state.

Alawa said the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship candidate Umar Mohammed Bago is leading in no fewer than 9 local councils while the major opposition political party and the closest rival the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has 2 local governments.

According to the returning officer explained that 11 local government areas has been collated so far, adding that the results has continued to come in from the remaining local government areas of the state.
