Balami urges Southern Kaduna people to be wary of bad eggs among them

From Femi Oyelola, Kaduna

Following the perpetual killings of southern Kaduna people in the state, the retired presiding judge of the FCT High Court Gwagwalada division, Justice Mwada Balami, has advised the leadership of Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) in Gwagwalada and beyond to re-examining themselves, saying that there are bad eggs among the southern Kaduna who were masterminding the killings.
Balami who gave the advice while addressing the southern Kaduna people during the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected officials of SOKAPU in Gwagwalada, further charged the southern Kaduna to continue re-examining themselves as well to make peace within their respective unions in Kaduna State.
He said the southern Kaduna people would not achieve any meaningful development in the atmosphere of rancor and acrimony.
His words: “We are not happy with what is happening in southern Kaduna. You can never go to somebody house and do something or to shed blood without their knowledge. So, the southern Kaduna people need to re-examine themselves because there is something wrong with you people.”
“Somebody from nowhere cannot come from nowhere and destroy you people. Your hands are there. We are disappointed with what was happening in southern Kaduna, because the Governor of Kaduna State is one of the most educated in the state”, he said.
He then urged the southern Kaduna people to go back to the drawing board and make peace among themselves for the benefit of generation yet unborn.
The retired Judge, who is a patron of SOKAPU in Gwagwalada, said as long as he remains as a patron, he would not hesitate to tell the southern Kaduna the truth in the area.
Balami, however, charged the new executives of SOKAPU to carry every member of the union along in the scheme of things.
In his valedictory speech, the outgoing chairman of SOKAPU, Comrade Hassan Goroh, said he would continue to give the necessary support and cooperation to the new officials.
Goroh thanked the national leadership of SOKAPU for setting the crisis which rocked southern Kaduna people in Gwagwalada.
In an interview, the newly inaugurated chairman of SOKAPU in Gwagwalada, Mr. Maikano Onesimus, appealed to the executives as well as members to work in unity, so as to move the union forward.
Onesimus pleaded with the southern Kaduna in anywhere they live to collect the Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) in order to vote candidates of their choice coming 2019 general elections.
In his goodwill message, the Chief of southern Kaduna in Gwagwalada, Chief Sunday J. Audu, tasked his subjects on peace. Not left out, the National President of SOKAPU who was represented at the Inauguration, advised the new officials of the union in Gwagwalada to provide purposeful leadership for their members.
