Bala’s spokesman escapes death

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator Bala Mohammed’s Special Assistant on Media, Nosike Ogbuenyi, narrowly escaped death on Wednesday, the eve of Christmas, when he was shot and wounded by suspected armed robbers who trailed him and snatched his official car at gun point.

The incident took place close to Dantata overhead bridge along the Umaru Yar’Adua express road at about 7.00pm of the fateful day, when Ogbuenyi was heading home from office.

It was gathered that the suspected robbers shot him at close range on the right leg, and he is currently on admission receiving treatment at a hospital in Abuja.

Peoples Daily further gathered that among the items carted away together with the car are two Samsung handsets, one Window 7 HP Laptop, two hard disc memory devices, three USB devices, one large photo book, bank documents, two ATM cards and office records.

The Personal Assistant (PA) to the attacked SA Media, Udochukwu John, in a statement yesterday, said the snatched car is a black coloured 2011 model Toyota Corolla salon car.

He added that the robbers, according to witnesses headed towards Gwarinpa-Zuba road through Dantata Bridge with the snatched car. “The FCT Police Command has requested anyone who sees the car to report to the nearest Police Station, the statement said.
