The Imo state government has announced plans to host a two-day economic summit between December 4 and December 5 in Owerri.
The summit, themed ‘Unlocking Imo’s Economic Potential: Partnership, Investment and Innovation’, is expected to attract investments and promote partnerships.
Hope Uzodinma, governor of Imo ina statement,said the summit will be a platform to explore investment opportunities.
“We are encouraged by the interest shown by leading international and local brands in the progress we have made in Imo State,” Uzodinma was quoted as saying.
“The summit will serve as a platform for participants to connect and explore the economic opportunities in the Eastern Heartland.
“Our doors to economic prosperity are open, and I look forward to welcoming everyone attending the summit.”
According to the statement, the event will be headlined by Ban Ki-Moon, former United Nations secretary-general.
Others speakers are Benedict Oramah, the immediate past president of Afreximbank; Obinna Iyiegbu, chairman of the Cubana Group; Isha Sesay, former CNN anchor; Adaora Umeoji, the managing director of Zenith Bank; and Obi Asika, the director-general of the Nigerian Council of Arts and Culture.
