Bandits attack: Katsina community alleges diversion of Aisha Buhari’s relief materials

Kasai Community in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State has raised alarm that the relief materials donated by the wife of the president, Hajiya A’ isha Buhari to victims of bandits attack were allegedly diverted by some unpatriotic elements in the area.
The leader of Kasai Business and Youth Development Association, Malam Abdullahi Salisu made the allegation weekend in Katsina while addressing newsmen over the issue.
‘When the first lady personally came for the donation there was symbolic presentation to the victims but after she left the materials were diverted to areas that were not affected by the attack. In the end it became free for all as people scramble to grab their share’ he alleged.
He therefore admonished leaders at all levels to fear Allah and do the right thing in alleviating the sufferings of the less privileged in the society.
According to him, the recent attack on the community has left 223 children orphaned while 49 women had their husbands killed, calling on government to provide these orphaned children access to education and skills acquisition.
He noted that their association has been supporting those displaced by the attack with accommodation, food items and other basic needs, appealing to wealthy individuals in the state to come to their aid.
The leader, however, thanked the first lady, Hajiya A’ isha Buhari for her kind gesture and the state governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari for his concerns and support to the community over their plight.
