Bandits have killed 12 and injured many others during an attack on Galadima Kogo in Shiroro Local Government of Niger State.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by Concerned Shiroro Youths, signed by its Co- Convener Yusuf Kokki and Bello Ibrahim, saying that the security Special Hunters have deserted the community.
The youth association condemned in strongest term the incessant banditry attacks in the Local Government, while blaming the State Government for the outright withdrawal of security personnel from Galadima- Kogo and its environs.
Meanwhile, the Coalition of Shiroro Associations, COSA, has also expressed worry over the insecurity situation bedeviling Shiroro Local Government and called for government intervention.
The association expressed its dismay over the refused of the Niger State Governor to pay solidarity visit to the Local Government in view of the calamity ravaging it.
Niger State Police Public Relations Officer PPRO ASP Wasiu Abiodun could not be reached at the time of filing this report and yet to issue official statement to that effect.
