Dare devil bandits have killed one security personnel and six others in Katsina State.
Katsina police command spokesman, SP Gambo Isah who confirmed the killing said the attack by the bandits took place in the early hours of yesterday on the residents of Kanawa and Kanga Village in Danmusa local government area.
He added that the attackers numbering about 60 carrying dangerous weapons trekked into the two villages where they committed the destatdly act.
He added that it was sporadic gun shots from the villages that attracted security personnel stationed at Maidabino village who rushed to the area to villages to help in chasing the assailants.
Isah noted that it was on the process of this rescue mission that the bandits ambushed that security team and killed one of them.
He further disclosed that the state commissioner of police has dispatched a crack team to the affected areas to bring the situation under control.
