Bauchi APC youth root for power shift in 2015

Date:

From Ahmed Kaigama, Bauchi

Youth under the aegis of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have argued that rotation of political power at both state and national level will facilitate and promote the much needed development to the people, while also noting that power shift will unearth credible leaders from the various segments of the society who have the wisdom, ability and know-how to transform the society and move it to greater heights.

The chairman of the APC Concerned Youths, Abdullahi Abdulkadir noted in a statement in Bauchi yesterday that non-rotation of political power at every level of governance was tantamount to negation of the concept of federalism.

He recalled that Bauchi State has since the advent of present political dispensation in 1999 been suffering from the nostalgia of power concentration to Bauchi South to the detriment of the Northern fringe of the state.

He described the concentration of political power in one area of the state as usurpation of the interest of generality of the people and negation of freedom of participation in partisan politics culminating in inequitable distribution of resources endowed the state.

Abdulkadir also expressed dismay with the attitudes of APC gubernatorial aspirants in Katagum zone, who out of their parochial individual interests were unable to select one aspirant that could confront the ruling party and consequently effect power shift from the South to the North in the state.
