Bauchi State Government has discovered 312 deceased local government pensioners on the nominal payroll of the government with a monthly value of N9.9 million.
The Special Adviser on Civil Service Matters to the Bauchi Governor Mr Abdon Dalla Gin stated this on Wednesday when he addressed a Press Conference.
He said this was contained in an implementation Commitee report of Bank Verification Number (BVN) Authentication in respect of the 41,448 civil servants on government payroll.
Also, the dead persons have been permanently removed from both the nominal roll and payroll.
The Adviser said 41, 448 civil servants cutting across both salary and pensions were presented to the committee for verification and the commitee uncovered ghost workers have pocketed the sum of N225,519,000,737 million between October, 2019 to June, 2020.
He said the committee which was set up by Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed and chaired by Senator Adamu Ibrahim Gumba disclosed that after concluding its assignment the committee had unearthed many anomalies within the State’s nominal roll.
