Bauchi gov flags off road construction in Azare

Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed yesterday flagged off construction of Azare township roads worth over one billion, a second largest city in the state after the state capital.
The projects are, the construction of Hospital Road to Jama’are, Azare Bye-Pass and Tafawa Balewa Road to Jama’are, Shira Road.
Speaking at the project site Azare, headquarters of Katagum Local Government Area, Governor Bala Mohammed said the urban road revival of the present administration is strategic response to the infrastructural gap as a result of population growth and expansion of urban cities and towns.
He expressed confidence that the road projects would improve the socioeconomic development of the affected communities through improvement in agricultural activities for poverty reduction and employment.
The Governor said his administration has embarked on initiating projects geared towards the advancement of the state in fulfilment of his campaign promises.
Governor Mohammed who said the state government will only engaged companies with track records in the execution of road projects, called on people of the state to support his administration for its success.
The Permanent Secretary, State Ministry of Works and Transport, Engineer Stephen Abubakar explained that, the construction of Hospital Road to Jama’are, Azare Bye-Pass is 1.3 kilometer, while that of Tafawa Balewa Road to Jama’are, Shira Road is 6.5 kilometer.
The Emir of Katagum, represented by Galadiman Katagum, Alhaji Usman expressed gratitude to the governor for the award of the roads construction and pledged their support to his administration.
