Bauchi State Governor Senator Bala Muhammed has dissolved all the caretaker commitee chairmen of the 20 Local Government Areas LGAs of the state ahead of the forthcoming Local Government elections.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Secretary to the state government, Mohammed Sabiu Baba.
He said the dissolution of the chairmen was done to “provide level playing ground for contestants”.
The statement said, “following the release of timetable for forthcoming local government councils elections in the state and in compliance with guidelines issued by the state Independent Electoral Commission for the provision of 30 days’ notice by all candidates, which wish to participate in the election” the governor has approved the dissolution of all the chairmen with immediate effect.
The governor directed the outgoing Chairmen to hand over the affairs of the LGAs to heads of administration, and thanked them for their meritorious service and wished them well in their future endeavors.
