Bauchi govt to empower local hunters

Bauchi State Government has declared its interest to support local hunters in the state to ensure lasting peace in the society.
Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed made the remark over the weekend at the Annual Salala festival day organized by Baushe Hunters held at Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida Square Bauchi.
The governor said empowering them will enable them compliment the efforts of security agencies in the protection of the lives and property of the citizens.
He said the current insecurity in the country required the support and intervention of local hunters in order to assist in overcoming the challenges.
Represented by the Chief of staff Government House Bauchi, Governor Bala Mohammed pledged to provide the necessary support to the local hunters to ensure crime free society.
Earlier, the National Chairman, Hunters Association, Malam Mohammed Usman Tole said the event is to enable the members share ideas among them on the new methods of their operations.
Tole assured the governor of their support in order to rid the state of criminals.
