Bauchi guber female candidate, Baheejah disowns coalition, says she’s still in the race

Date:

From Ahmad Mohammed, Bauchi

The only female gubernatorial candidate on the platform of Action Congress of Democrats (ACD) has explained that she is still in the race to contest for the 2nd March 2019 governorship election, as she denied any knowledge about the coalition of six Political Parties aimed to defeat the present administration in the state.
Baheejah was reacting to a report published in national dailies which said she was part of the coalition.
She said, to put the record straight, she was contacted once on phone by one person a day before they addressed a press conference; and they didn’t discuss anything. She only learnt later that Parties that held the press briefings, held several meetings with party chairmen, gubernatorial candidates and their deputies; but she was not aware of all the meetings they held in Abuja and Bauchi, because she was not invited.
She said their effort was a good attempt with commitment and genuine sincerity; and urged all Political Parties, including the ruling APC and people of Bauchi State to give women in the state a chance to produce the next female governor, since they didn’t hold the position before.
According to Bahhejah, “It is now our time; and I have all it takes to govern the state. In fact I am a meritorious candidate. Na chanchanta!”
