Bauchi State Special Schools Board Chairman, Yakubu Ibrahim Hamza has observed that the only legacy one could bequeath the up-coming generation was to ensure that every child attend school.
To this end, the board chairman commended Governor Mohammed Abubakar for the introduction of a new programme into the education sector tagged, “Eye on Education” or 2E geared to raise the standard of education generally in the state.
The programme which comprised of well-tailored educationists was saddled with the responsibilities, among others, routine inspection of schools, giving advises on way forward, and taking schools problems with a view to prospering solutions.
The board chairman recalled that the introduction of the 2E programme at the inception of Governor Abubakar-led administration in 2015 has steadily raised the standard of education in Bauchi state with SSC examination passes up from 0.03% in 2015 to 27% in 2017.
Alhaji Yakubu Ibrahim Hamza who was speaking Thursday while receiving members of the Democratic Enlightenment Initiative (DEI), a political pressure group in his office in Bauchi, said the push culminated students under the board scoring 90% in final exams with 5 credits and above including English and mathematics.
