Bauchi to block leakages in IGR

Bauchi State Executive Council has resolved to block leakages in the state Internally Generated Revenue.
The State Commissioner for Finance, Alhaji Nura Manu Soro stated this when he addressed reporters on the outcome of the Council meeting Wednesday in Bauchi.
Nura said the Council deliberated on the funding of capital project in order to ensure the completion of the abandoned and ongoing projects across the state.
The Finance Commissioner said it also emphasized the need for transparency and accountability in financial transactions in line with global best practices.
On his part, the State Commissioner for Works and Transport, Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim said that, in line with the governor’s mission of overcoming the challenges facing the state, all abandoned road projects would be completed by the present administration.
Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim assured the readiness of the administration of Governor Bala Mohammed towards ensuring the execution of the qualitative projects for the well being of the citizens.
The State Commissioner for Information and Communication, Dr Ladan Salihu said during the meeting, Governor Bala Mohammed has given a roadmap for members of the council on the efforts of his administration to respond to the yearnings and aspirations of people of the state.
