Bauchi State Government has announced its readiness to key into the Federal Government’s livestock Plan.
The State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed announced this yesterday while declaring open, the 2019 Professional Continuing Education Seminar of the Veterinary Council of Nigeria held at Zaranda Hotel Bauchi.
Senator Bala commended President Muhammadu Buhari for the initiative, and observed that, it will go a long way towards addressing some of the challenges currently facing the country.
The governor suggested for the adoption of modern techniques for livestock production considering the significant role of Veterinary sub sector in the area of Public Health, Preventive Medicine, food security and safety among others.
He said that, in view of the importance of veterinary profession, the present administration in the state is making concerted effort to salvage the sector through collaboration with relevant stakeholders in order to invest in the livestock sub sector.
Senator Bala said his administration has decided to sustain the Veterinary Students manpower training scheme as the state has 97 veterinarians and 141 veterinary students on training.
