The Nigerian Senators Forum, comprising of former and serving senators, have described the death of late Emir of Kano Alhaji Ado Bayero as a monumental loss to the country.

Secretary of the forum, Senator Abubakar Girei, in a condolence message made available to newsmen in Kaduna yesterday, on behalf of the forum stated that Nigeria has indeed lost an icon, a man of timber and caliber, whose contributions to nation-building cannot be forgotten in a hurry.

The statement noted that the late Emir died when his wealth of experience as an elder statesman is most needed, particularly in the face of the present security challenges bedeviling the nation and the northern region in particular.
