The traditional ruler of Yorubas in Zazzau Emirate Council of Kaduna State, Barrister Ishiak Bello has enjoined all his subjects to respect constituted authority and live in peace with one and another.
He made the assertion during the turbaning ceremony of nineteen traditional title holders of Yoruba extraction in Zaria yesterday.
The royal father noticed that no nation in any way can move forward if the people refused to live in harmony with themselves.
He added that nations of the world that have made positive impact in nation building make sure that her people live in peace irrespective of tribe or religion, hence the need for all of us to live in atmosphere of peace, he remarked.
The monarch informed the turbaned chiefs that their role is to brief him on the day to day happenings in their respective areas, which he will in turn pass to the Emir of Zazzau Alhaji Shehu Idris on all issues within his area of operation.
Barrister Bello said all the people accorded the traditional titles were selected based on merit and recommendation from their various villages and hamlets. He urged them to carry all their people along in the running of the affairs of the area and also preach unity among all tribes in their domain.
The monarch called on them to be security conscious and increase vigilance to forestall any unwholesome happenings and also device a tactic of protecting their settlements in collaboration with the security all the time, he pleaded.
He also stressed the need for the chiefs to work together as a team for the progress of the emirate, warning that any title holder found to be going against the rules would be dealt with accordingly.
Alhaji Bashar Aminu, the Dan Iyan Zazzau, who represented the Emir congratulated the new title holders and urged them to respect the institution by behaving well at all times. “it is a big responsibility that was been put on your head and you must not fai,” he added.
