Bello, Ramatu resume as FCT Ministers to consolidate on developmental strides

The , has pledged to consolidate on the existing solid foundation for rapid development of the Territory during his first tenure.
Bello gave the assurance when he assumed duty as the FCT Minister alongside with the Minister of State for FCT, Ramatu Tijani Aliyu, at the FCTA Secretariat, in Abuja.
He also said he would work under the general policy guidelines given to him by President Muhammadu Buhari
Bello explained that Buhari was very clear on the direction he want the country to move in the next four years.
“And the direction is not to benefits him (Buhari)as a person but a direction that will take Nigeria to were it truly belong.
“ What the administration did during the first tenure was basically to prepare ground and establish foundation what we need to do now is to build upon the foundation that has been established
“ I thank President Buhari for having decided to reappointed me as a cabinet Minister out of so many eminently qualify persons from my state and also decided to bring me back to FCT.
“ I also want to thank President Buhari for bringing back the tradition of FCT of having a Minister of state.”
He thanked the management staff of the FCTA for the tremendous work they had been doing over the years, which had made Abuja a very proud city.
The Minister urged the FCTA staff to guard the city jealously, saying “ you have to work hard to build the city because it is a great city established by our predecessors.
“ Abuja is a city that is growing far beyond normal growth rates so we have to work at a rate more than the normal rate.”
The FCT Minister of State, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani, opined that the reappointment of Bello as the FCT Minister by Buhari signifies trust, and solicited the cooperation of the FCTA staff to enable them succeed.She promised to join hands with the Senior Minister to continue to render the good services that he had started to take FCT to the desired level.
Speaking earlier, the FCT Permanent Secretary, Sir Chinyeaka Ohaa, assured full cooperation and loyalty of the FCTA staff to the Ministers.
He explained that the FCTA had the mandate to develop and manage a world class capital territory for the country.
He added that FCTA had six mandate Secretariats, several agencies and departments covering all aspects of administration.
