Erstwhile Attorney-General of the Federation Mike Aondoakaa and former National Chairman, Peoples’ Democratic Party, PDP Sen. Barnabas Gemade have called for outright cancellation of the just concluded All Progressives Congress, APC Governorship primaries.

It should be noted that Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia emerged as the party’s flag bearer through direct primaries.

But Aondoakaa, Gemade and a former Commissioner for Information in the State Prof. Terhemba Shija have faulted the process and asked for cancelation of the primaries.

This is even as the Appeals Panel for the primary elections in the state told the leadership of the party, that, it has failed the APC.

The aspirants called for the cancellation of the governorship primary, while making their submissions before the Appeals Panel in the state, arguing that the primary was an aberration.

They described the process as a “sham and charade.”

It would be recalled that Aondoakaa and Gemade were conspicuously absent at a stakeholders meeting where the party agreed to adopt the direct  primary for the Governorship.
