Tiv Youth Organization, TYO, a socio- cultural group of Tiv youths worldwide has expressed displeasure over the arraignment of Commander of the Benue State Livestock Guards, Alhaji Aliyu Tershaku and some members of his group.
It should be noted that Tershaku and his group have reportedly been arraigned for the murder of two Catholic priests and several parishioners at St. Ignatius Catholic church in Mbalom, Gwer local government area.
President of the organization, Comrade Timothy Hembaor said in a statement made available to our correspondent yesterday that the arraignment of Tershaku for alleged murder is ‘a sham and ‘travesty of justice’.
He alleged that the act is a clear evident of the collusion of the Nigerian Police with the Presidency and the Fulani ethnic group to change the Benue narrative, adding that survivors of the Mbalom Church massacre for which Tershaku is said to be arraigned know their killers.
“Benue people also know their killers. These killers are sponsored by the leadership of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore led by Abdulahi Bello Bodejo and Saleh Alhassan. These sponsors are also supported by several Fulani groups including the Fulani Nationality Movement, FUNAM.
“The Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore held a press conference in Abuja on Tuesday, 30th May, 2017 and threatened to invade and take over the Benue valley.”
