Benue State Commissioner for Justice and Public Order Barr Fidelis Mnyim has hailed the Judgement of the State Local Government Election Petitions Appeal Tribunal upholding election of local government Chairmen and councilors in the State as ‘sound’.
The State Local Government Election Appeal Petitions Tribunal in Abuja on Monday held that the 23 local government Chairmen were duly returned as elected by the State Independent Electoral Commission, BSIEC, during the election that held on October 5, 2024.
Reacting to the Judgement, the State Attorney-General expressed his profound appreciation to the esteemed Judges who presided over the Appeal Tribunal.
He called for improvement in their remuneration package, the provision of institutional support such as insurance cover, mandatory housing programme, promotions as and when due, affordable health services, and educational support.(NAN)
