National Directorate of Employment, NDE yesterday commenced the training of 15,450 persons (20 persons in each of the 23 local government areas) of Benue State in computer.
The program which is domiciled under the Vocational Skills Department of the agency, is expected to last for three (3) months.
In his remark, the new acting Director-General of NDE Mallam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo said the training is a deliberate effort by the agency to engage the youth to be self reliant so that they can in turn become employers of labor.
Represented by Mrs. Agnes Ogbaga, Mallam Fikpo urged the participants to take the program seriously by always been punctual and attentive.
Benue State Coordinator,NDE Musa Sadauki who flagged off the program stressed the need for the participants to take the training very seriously so as to improve their well-being.
While the Head of Department Vocational Skills Department Mrs. Hilda Lawani noted that skills drive the economy of any nation.
Mrs. Lawani emphasized that each participant must score 80 percent before they could be certified, urging them to be obedient and adhere to instructions of the trainers.
