The Secretary to Benue State Government, Prof. Joseph Alakali has stressed that election litigation is the strength of Nigeria’s democracy.
Prof. Alakali said this in a statement signed by his media aide Philip Salemkaan while reacting to the affirmation of Governor Hyacinth Alia’s victory during the March 18,2023 Governorship polls by the Supreme Court on Monday.
The Benue Chief Scribe said the victory will allow the Governor to concentrate on governance in the interest of the Benue people.
The SSG further urged the PDP and it’s Governorship Candidate Titus Uba to jettison political affiliation and prioritize good governance and make useful contributions where necessary.
He said now that the unnecessary distraction is over, it’s time for full work, adding, ‘No more court case. Our politicians and all relevant stakeholders are strongly enjoined to prioritize the interest of the Benue people by cooperating with Gov. Hyacinth Alia in moving the state forward’.
“Benue people should believe in Benue. We will be great again and regain our lost glory. Brighter days are ahead. Let’s endure the pressure of today for the pleasure of tomorrow. Gov. Alia will succeed, Benue will be greater,” he said.
