Benue Speaker sacks Chief Press Secretary

Speaker of the Benue State Assembly Hon. Hyacinth Dajo has directed for the termination of the appointment of his Chief Press Secretary Mr. Raphael Akume.
In a letter signed by the Clerk of the House of Assembly Barr. Bernard Nule, Esq and addressed to the office of the Secretary to the State Government on Tuesday, said that he (Akume), should be replaced by another person to be nominated at a later date.
The letter asked the former Press Secretary to hand over all government property in his possession.
A top official of the Assembly who pleaded anonymity confirmed the story, stating that the termination takes effect from Tuesday 16 April, 2024.
“Yes it is true that the Speaker’s press secretary has been sacked and no reason was given for the action”.
