Benue State Commissioner for Rural, Urban. Development and Co-operatives Mrs.Joy Luga has expressed commitment of government to target 100,000 women for empowernemt before the end of the year.
Mrs. Luga who disclosed this when members of the Correspondents’ Chapel, paid her a courtesy call on Thursday, said already 50, 000 women have been captured and will be empowered with Palliatives on Friday 1st December,2023 by Governor Alia’s Cares Committee which will be inaugurated same day.
She also, intimated that several Community Development Associations have already have been trained on how to assess loans and pay back, saying that in due course, they will be given grants by government.
“Our target is to ensure that we reach out to the least woman in the State.
“We will also,open as many access roads in the rural communities as well as electricity projects. We are proposing in 2024, to execute at least two(2) electrification projects in each zones of the State”, Mrs. Luga said.
