Vice Chancellor, Benue State University, BSU Prof. Joe Iorapuu has said the institution benefited hugely from the 240 million naira Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFUND in the last eighteen months.
Prof. Iorapuu who disclosed this on Thursday at a pre-convocation media conference to mark the 22nd-24th combined convocation of the University said TETFUND has intervened in the area of infrastructure, procurement and maintenance of its existing facilities.
He also intimated that another 306 million naira was expended on staff training, conference attendance, funding of research and publications in the last eighteen months by TETFUND.
The VC announced that the visitor of the University (the Governor) has approved that the convocation should be on yearly basis.
Prof. Iorapuu who marked his last term in office having assumed as 6th VC on 3rd November 2020, said the University will confer degrees and diplomas on 17, 925 graduands in the following categories, Bachelor’s Degree 15101, Postgraduate Diploma, 72, Master’s Degrees 2196 and PhD -556.
He said, “It is important to note that out of 17925 graduands with Bachelors’ degrees, 44 of them earned First Class.
